Artist statement

Through photography Tieleman explores themes of change, time and mortality. With an awareness of the passage of time she captures the ever-changing nature of life. By visualizing the transitions in major life changes she addresses questions about our mortality. Influenced by her own experiences with breast cancer, she draws from her personal journey and curiosities. With feelings of hope, surrender and acceptance, she creates a new reality and investigates the things in life that we have no control over.
